Reading the Herbal Landscape w/ Jade Alicandro, August 22, 530- 7 pm

Reading the Herbal Landscape is a wandering walk through our land in Montague. Jade will showcase different stages of succession and habitats, such as edges.  She will share hints and tips for getting an idea of what plants might be growing in different areas, such as early successional species, earth healers, dominant tree species, etc. We will also look at various indicators including soil types, recent disturbance, land use patterns and anthropomorphic landscapes. This class is aimed at those wanting to deepen their connection with the land around them by helping to bulid skills in reading the landscape. 

Jade Alicandro weaves a love of bioregional herbalism and kitchen medicine into her work as a community and clinical herbalist. She offers in-person bioregional herbalism classes, hosts monthly online classes in her Viriditas Community, and teaches an online kitchen herbalism intensive each winter, Spice Rack Medicine.
