Honey Bees as a Superorganism w/ Ang Roell, Aug 30, 5-7:30 pm

In this workshop Ang Roell of They Keep Bees will use embodiment, storytelling and sensory engagement to teach us about the inner workings of a honeybee hive. We will engage all five of our senses and work with honey, beeswax and propolis in their raw and processed form. Together we will explore historical and present day uses of hive medicines, and gain a deeper understanding of each elements importance the honeybees as a super organism.

Ang Roell (they/them) resides in the Connecticut River watershed, in Western Mass where they co-operate They Keep Bees, a queer & trans led beekeeping business. They Keep Bees is a migratory beekeeping operation based in the Northeastern and Southeastern US. They Keep Bees raises adaptive Varroa resistant queen bees, conducts research, facilitates skill shares and builds collaborative networks.
