In this workshop Ana Maria De La Rosa will share about the roots of self care and lead folks in some medicine making with roots from the garden. She will provide historical context for self care- a legacy from revolutionaries like the Black Panthers and Audre Lorde. We will collectively explore what self care means in our current climate and the connections to community care and healing justice. We will also share in some medicine making including working with roots, how to harvest and store roots and make a decoction together with some of the roots from the farm.
All workshops are held at our farm at 119 Old Sunderland Rd, Montague, MA. Workshops are rain or shine and are outdoors on grass with some uneven terrain. We have a covered location if it is pouring rain. If it is very bad weather we may cancel or postpone. When you sign up provide an email address for us to contact you in case of a last minute cancellation or delay. There is an rustic composting toilet available.
Please register in advance for classes and email us with any questions. Workshop materials are included in the class fee. We believe that education should be accessible, while also compensating our teachers fairly. Please be in touch by email if you need a sliding pay scale.

- If we cancel the workshop for any reason all registration fees are fully refunded
- If a registrant withdraws from a workshop with more than 4 days notice (96 hours) a refund will be issued minus a $5 administrative fee
- If a registrant withdraws from a workshop with less than 4 days notice (96 hours) or doesn’t show up for a workshop, no refund or exchanges will be given
