In this workshop Ang will teach participants how to render beeswax from the hexagons within the hive into clean golden disks for candle and medicine making. Then together we'll use rendered beeswax to make hand dipped beeswax candles together.

Ang Roell (they/them) resides in the Connecticut River watershed, where they co-operate They Keep Bees. They Keep Bees raises Varroa resistant queen bees, leads climate adaptive research, facilitates skill shares and builds collaborative networks. They Keep Bees is a migratory beekeeping operation co-located in MA & NC.

All workshops are held at our farm at 119 Old Sunderland Rd, Montague, MA. Workshops are rain or shine and are outdoors on grass with some uneven terrain. We have a covered location if it is pouring rain. If it is very bad weather we may cancel or postpone. When you sign up provide an email address for us to contact you in case of a last minute cancellation or delay.  There is an rustic composting toilet available.
